trans·hu·mance
noun
the action or practice of moving livestock from one grazing ground to another in a seasonal cycle.

Immerse yourself in the world of seasonal herders through a wonderful selection of photographs of transhumance farmers from other parts of Europe and the world. Transhumance farming where still practiced has ancient cultural roots and as a low-input practice adapted to its local environment, holds the key to the future of sustainable farming for us all with benefits to biodiversity as well as climate.
